ABOUT US

My name is Erin Pesavento. I am the owner and main operator of Lowcountry Thread, and I have been blessed to work and learn from the absolute best in the trade.

One might say I started out in the industry when I was just 3 years old! My mother, Winona Sox Rhame, had a budding workroom in Atlanta and I took my job very seriously clipping threads among her beautiful jabots and swags she would create. My mother moved to South Carolina in the early 80's and  trailblazed the path for us in the new construction path,  earning her fabrications the highest accolades and praise among the best builders and designers in the sea islands of Charleston.  I learned the high-end business through her, watching her attention to detail and keen eye. I learned not only how to fabricate, but how to design and plan from the ground up, working intimately with our beloved design firms, many who still work with us from the early 90's!

I have always been drawn to creating, sewing, and designing, for as long as I can remember; starting with sewing and drawing as a child, to earning my bachelor's of arts degree at the College of Charleston where I was trained in classical proportions and fine arts.

My husband, Walton Pesavento, started installing draperies and shades  with Winona right after he graduated college around 2000 for a quick stint. Well , it turned out his construction background, ingenuity, and customer relationship skills proved him an invaluable asset to the business, and he became an indespensible part of our company . 25 years later, and he is one of the most requested and revered installers in the area. His work graces the cover of magazines, luxury hotels, and stunning homes on the waters of Kiawah.

In 2018, Tammy Jackson joined our office front. I cannot rave about this woman enough- she is a loyal friend, devoted mother, and commited employee. No detail slips past her and she constantly is delving outside of her job requirement as needed in order to make our designers look their absolute best by keeping things in production and installed in a timely fashion.  We probably get the most compliments from our designers regarding Ms. Jackson's unrivaled attention to organization than any other service we offer!

I cannot leave out my amazing head seamstresses, Ms. Loretta Benjamin  & Ms. Anniebell Bryant.  We have been sewing together closely for decades; these women are truly family, and they simply don't make master artisans like these ladies anymore!

Last but not least, if you work with us long enough, you may be lucky to run into our Renaissance man, Mr. Matt Heffner. He is talented enough to fill in any holes we have in the workroom (both figuratively and literally) and is a joy to have on the team.   Like I mentioned at the beginning, I am blessed to have these pillars forming and supporting the foundation of Lowcountry Thread- they are truly the best.  If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life!

OUR SERVICES

We are setup and geared a little different than your regular to-the-trade designer turn key workroom. We usually start from the plans up, working closely in tandem with our designers to take their client's vision to fruition all the way from the planning phase to move-in day.  We are more of an extension of our design firms, allowing them to have an outside specialist in helping design functional treatments for their client's needs and spaces, from providing custom fabrications we make in-house hung on  time-tested drapery hardware, to providing luxury woven shades.
